Accreditation signifies that our service has met the “gold standard” determined by the ambulance industry to be essential in a modern emergency medical services provider. These standards often exceed those established by state or local regulation.

Northglenn Ambulance has been a starting ground for many career paramedics, nurses, and doctors.  Our volunteers say the biggest benefit they receive is initial training to make them good solid EMT's.  One of our long standing volunteers comes to Northglenn Ambulance from Japan one month every year to keep her skills up.

Over the years several paramedics have utilized our volunteer program to keep their skills current while they pursue non-EMS ventures.  Some volunteers work for rural fire districts with low call volume and come to Northglenn Ambulance to run more calls.

Northglenn Ambulance functions under the medical direction of Dr. Carl Bonnett, MD from Denver Health.  Our partnership with Denver Health has allowed us to offer the best continuing education possible.  Denver Health offers monthly continuing education taught by physicians at our headquarters. In addition to the education provided by Denver Health we offer advanced courses in pediatrics, geriatrics, and cardiology.

We offer flexibility with your schedule.  We require our volunteers to work 48 hours per month.  Some volunteers work every other 24 hour shifts twice a month while other work 4 - 12 hour shifts picking the best day of the week and choosing either day or night shifts.  Volunteers submit their duty requests monthly with the dates and times they want to work.

Northglenn Ambulance offers a pension plan to our volunteers who stick with the volunteer program for 5 years or longer.  This works out great for the retirement planners.  Full vesting occurs at year 5.  Additional years of service beyond 5 years adds additional payment benefits once you reach 60.  The maximum payout is $750.00 per month for life if you volunteer for only 15years.

All volunteers are covered under the companies workers compensation insurance plan.
